About

Amateur Career

Glen was born in 1996 and began his career in the golf industry as Head of Golf Services at Romanby Golf & Country Club, located near his hometown of Northallerton, North Yorkshire. Before joining Romanby, Glen gained valuable customer service experience teaching swimming to children as young as 3 and adults over 70. This early exposure to teaching and service helped him develop a passion for both. At Romanby, Glen was responsible for managing the golf shop, overseeing bookings, organising events, and providing expert advice to golfers of all levels. His focus on delivering outstanding customer service and creating a welcoming environment played a key role in enhancing the club’s reputation and member satisfaction. In 2017, Glen moved to Catterick Golf Club to pursue his PGA training under his playing coach and close friend, Alex James. Glen has strong ties to the club, with both his father and grandfather having served as captains. As a player, he won two Club Championships and represented Yorkshire as a Junior. With a lifelong ambition to play professionally, Glen combines his passion for golf with his commitment to exceptional service and community engagement in the sport.

About

Professional Career

Over the past eight years as a professional, Glen has achieved multiple top-10 finishes in PGA events. In 2018, he qualified for the English PGA Championships at Saunton Golf Club and has also competed in Dubai. That same year, Glen and Alex moved to Sand Moor Golf Club to further their careers at a larger facility just 5 miles from Leeds City Centre. At Sand Moor, Glen took on the role of Junior Academy Manager, where he made a significant impact. Over his seven years at the club, he grew junior membership from 10 to over 70, introduced a development programme, established three new junior teams, and successfully led Sand Moor to Division 1 of the LDUGC League, securing the LDUGC Junior Cup in 2019. Additionally, Glen played a key role in raising over £20,000 for a local children’s charity, supporting a junior member battling cancer. Driven by a deep passion for junior development, Glen is committed to giving back the same opportunities he was fortunate to have as a young golfer. He now continues his journey as Head Professional at Ilkley Golf Club, determined to leave a lasting impact and make a difference in the golfing community.

Glen’s coaching philosophy is that no individual swing should be the same and should be tailored to ones goals and physical capabilities.
